We Are: A community of Christians believing in the reality of God and of His love as
directed toward us in Jesus Christ. Our purpose is to be a fellowship of believers,
glorifying God, showing love towards others in our witness, resulting in fellowship
marked by oneness in Christ. As believers, we are more than just "church goers" as we
are actively involved in our fellowships and in the life of our church as a whole. Our
atmosphere is that of a family and truly exhibits the body of Christ in action. Our
Heritage: The Covenant Church of Schaumburg is one of more than 700 Covenant
Churches nationwide. The Covenant Church traces it's roots to the Lutheran Church of
Sweden more than 125 years ago. Since that time, Covenant Churches have formed
worldwide, welcoming people from many different backgrounds. We are evangelical, but
not exclusive. We are biblical, but not doctrinaire. We are congregational, but not
independent. We are traditional, but not rigid. Our Belief: We celebrate a few essential
convictions; among them, a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and the Bible as a
roadmap for our daily lives. We observe the sacraments of Holy Communion and Holy
Baptism. We believe that God intends life to have a healthy balance of worship, study,
and service
